Campus Philly and the BBQ
Welcome back everyone. I'm sure you've all checked religiously since I last posted. This weekend was just as fun, but also very different.
It started on Wednesday night.
Monday night I heard a knock at the door and three guys all dressed in suits asked for Mr. Anderson and then handed me an invitation to a secret society breaking the ice meeting. Now, it was not a Frat invite. It was for a secret society. Very few people were invited. The attire was coat and tie. I went with my friend Jacob from down the hall. My mom went through a lot of trouble to get me my suit over night and the UPS guy delivered to the wrong address, but it all ended up working out.
Here's Jacob and me before we head out to the Owls social. (Mom, Jacob shaved kind of, after this night though).

Thursday night, I went to a concert. Sufjan Stevens is one of my favorite artists and I went to see his show down town. It was a great concert at an awesome venue.

I was sitting far back, but rushed the stage for the encore. Here is at the very end of the set.

Friday night I stayed in for the most part because I had crew practice at 7 am on Saturday Morning.
I weighed myself before and after crew. The last time I weighed myself after crew I was still wearing my sweat soaked clothes. I was two and a half pounds lighter. That means I sweat out over two and a half pounds of water during my work out. Granted, it was just water weight, so it went back on as soon as I drank water, but it was still neat.
The City of Philadelphia put on a huge concert and Festival to unite all of the colleges in Philadelphia. It was free! They got some big name bands to play, including one of my favorite bands, Saves the Day. Our view was great because we got there early. Also, the way the stage was set up, my friend Taylor and I were able to meet up with each person in the band individually. So, here is a series of pictures:

With the lead singer.

The Bassist

The Guitarist

And the Drummer.
Here's a shot of the crowd behind me. We were really up close.

We could have been at the front, but the people in front of us were there because they registered to vote at the festival. I registered months ago. So, being on task with my civic responsibilities didn't exactly pay off.

Oh, my friend Alyssa is in the room and wants to say hello...

Back to the festival.
There were people walking around with Free Hugs signs. Naturally I asked for a Group Hug!

Today our Hall got together to have a little BBQ in our little courtyard.
I volunteered to play cook! I left my Kiss the Cook apron at home though.

More cooking action

JJ had to cook his Hebrew National hotdogs in tin foil so he could keep Kosher.

Stephen, Alyssa and her sister sitting on a bench, being cool. (for the record: Alyssa is still sitting her and requests this disclaimer: "I hate this picture")

Here's some of the hall. the girl on the left in the white shirt is Jenn, our RA.

Finally, these five fine Penn students tend to hang out in our room and eat our food. Well, three of them live in the room, the other two just show up. We like the group though.
