Europe Pictures
Hey Everyone. It's been a long time since I went to Europe and I realized I never showed the pictures. I am going to post the best of below. I hope you enjoy them!
We start with our first day at a park in Amsterdam.
Here's Allison at the park as we head out to explore the city.
This is a public urinal. That green thing is a walk in toilet in the middle of the street. If you look closely, you can see the feet of someone taking advantage of the public amenities.
This one came out dark because of the lighting, but this is a picture of Allison and her friends from the program she was on. We were at a Chinese Buffet that was provided for by Allison's Study Abroad Program.
Ah, we're matching on accident!
Here's a clearer picture of Allison and her friends. I do not think the shortest to tallest order was pre-planned.
Backpacking through Europe!
This is the King's thrown inside of the Palace at Versailles
Just a quick view of the backyard at the Palace of Versailles.
And another..
Fourteen French Kings were born in this bed!
This is the Hall of Mirrors inside the Palace.
This corridor depicts each of the major French Battles and Victories since the early 800s.
At the end of the hall, visitors could challenge this Chess Master who has been playing there since King Louis XIV appointed him guest entertainer in the 17th Century.
Another shot of the backyard. Everything you see is part of the property. Some is open to the public as a park though.
We asked an old lady to take our picture. She didn't speak English very well and held the camera backwards at first. We eventually got it to work.
Just a fountain-filled garden in the backyard.
Hidden walkways!
This is our friend at the Chinese Restaurant in Versailles. He sat down right at our table to smoke a few cigarettes out of his cigarette bong.
We rode our bikes down to the beach when we were in Montpelier and enjoyed a relaxing day just laying around.
On our way back to Montpelier from the beach. Allison looks ready to go!
Texting and riding a bike is easy. Try taking a picture and riding a bike while watching out for snakes!
Allison again!
We rode by a farm with a lot of horses. This lady up ahead is just taking her donkey for a walk.
Night time in Montpelier.
At a market during the day in Montpelier.
Allison got a purse at the market in Montpelier.
7182 Kilometers to Louisville!
More of Montpelier in the day.
A Ferris Wheel in the center of the city.
This reminded me of what it looks like walking through the hotels at home, but real.
At a park in Montpelier.
This is the train station in Paris. Gare is the French word for Station. Nord is noth. North Station.
A nice sunset in Montpelier.
When we were in Montpelier, we found this beautiful view (same place the sunset picture above was taken) at a monument that will be pictured below. A local man asked people to join him in a dance lesson. The dance they were doing was a social dance that would be done in a wedding or some celebration like that. Allison and I were jealous that we showed up after the lesson already started.
This is a bridge that extended from the Monument we were at. It went on for a long time.
A cool storm was coming in while we were at the monument during the day.
Here is the monument during the day, the storm is coming in from the right. Where those people are standing is where the dance lesson was happening.
This is at Monet's Garden in Giverny. This is a picture of his backyard and Lilly garden. In the distance is one of the bridges made famous by his paintings.
A shot of a boat that is in one of his pictures.
Lillies
Sitting down in the garden.
Monet's backyard.
At a park in Paris.
A black and white photo of us.
Obviously the sun is in my eyes. This is on a bridge near the Lourve in Paris.
Part of the Lourve.
The Eiffel Tower in the distance.
It's so tiny I can squish it!
A view of Paris from the Eiffel Tower.
At the top!
Together in front of the Eiffel Tower.
So, those are the pictures from our trip together. It was a ton of fun! Hopefully you enjoyed seeing tons of pictures of Allison and me together in front of parts of France and Amsterdam!
